IMPULSE CONTROL

IMPULSE CONTROL was the debut full-length work of WhipLash Dance, created and directed by Tyra Rose. With a contemporary dance base, dance theater elements, and a splash of camp, IMPULSE CONTROL opened the door to harder conversations about addiction, struggle, and what it means to be human together.

The sixth installment in an ongoing series, IMPULSE CONTROL #6: RELAPSE delved into the chaotic, cyclical nature of addiction and the fraught relationship between impulse and restraint. Performed in the tri-bill CERBERUS, and introducing WhipLash Dance, this piece served as raw sketch for the full-length IMPULSE CONTROL, which premiered in June 2026.
